PORTLAND, Maine (WMTW) - The University of Maine System is holding COVID-19 vaccine clinics on or near campuses across the state.

A clinic was held Wednesday at King Middle School in Portland for University of Southern Maine students.

The move is part of the institution’s push to have as many students vaccinated before graduation on May 8.

“As my role as a student, it’s important for me to kind of personally take that obligation with being part of a educational institution, wanting to remain in in person classes, remain in uh, the ability to communicate with others, interact with others. That was important,” said Ryan Mustapha, junior at USM.

More clinics are scheduled around the state in the coming days.
