BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The Christine B. Foundation is working with Northern Light Health to address nutrition assistance among patients with cancer.

The Foundation’s nutrition assistance program offers no-cost grocery packages to patients with cancer, recent survivors, and their families across eastern Maine.

The program is now offered at Northern Light Cancer Care in Brewer and Northern Light Mayo Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft for patients with cancer to pick up packages onsite.

The partnership also enables the Foundation to offer home delivery across much of eastern Maine for patients who may not have frequent appointments at the oncology center.

“Making sure that we can play a small role in a very big treatment plan is just so heart-warming,” said Matt Dexter, Founder and Executive Director of the Christine B. Foundation. “We think, and Northern Light has addressed this as a key priority for them, too, that no patient should have to worry about where their next meal is going to come from.”
