Waterville man arrested on home improvement fraud charges
WATERVILLE, Maine (WABI) - A Waterville man is facing a number of charges after police say he stole thousands of dollars from a woman, promising to replace the windows in her home.
33-year-old Tony Glidden was arrested Saturday on charges of Home Repair Fraud and Theft.
Police say earlier this month an 83-year-old woman in Belgrade said she gave $25,000 to Glidden of Mainely Roofing and Siding, LLC. That was to buy the windows. The total cost of the project was more than $39,000.
To date, police say, none of the materials have been purchased and no work has been done.
Bail for Glidden was set at $2,500.
The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office believes there may be other victims in the central Maine area.
If you or someone you know has had a problem of this nature, you’re asked to call police.
