AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - A small group of Republican lawmakers plans to travel to the Maine Statehouse to call on colleagues to return “to get to work.”
Republican Rep. Shelley Rudnicki, of Fairfield, said the Legislature is a co-equal branch of government that must weigh in on the governor’s executive orders during the pandemic.
Senate President Troy Jackson, a Democrat, said lawmakers have been at work since December.
He called the event planned for Tuesday in the House chambers a political stunt.
