Bangor Rotary Club Festival of Lights Show winners announced
The driving tour replaced the annual Festival of Lights parade in downtown Bangor
BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Some of the best and most creative holiday lights displays are getting top honors.
More than 70 places participated in the Bangor Rotary Club Festival of Lights show, with the community voting for their favorites.
The driving tour replaced the annual Festival of Lights parade in downtown Bangor.
General Electric won for best commercial entry.
Best Residential entry goes to 227 Clyde Road in Bangor...their display was called “As many lights and decorations as possible....National Lampoon Style”
The Best Non Profit winner was Kid’s Peace.
Best municipal display went to the Bangor International Airport.
The Hathaway Holiday Lights in Veazie won Best in Show.
and the Bangor Rotary Club’s Pick went to Christmas at Kandy’s on East Summer Street in Bangor.
All of the winners receive plaques.
The Hathaway Holiday Lights is also getting a 5-hundred dollar cash prize as best overall display.
The lights show collects donations for the Northern Light EMMC NICU.
Organizers say the prize money will also be added to those donations.
