Rep. Golden explains decision to vote against Pelosi for Speaker, again
He was one of just two Democrats who voted for another candidate.

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Congressman Jared Golden is explaining his decision to once again vote against Nancy Pelosi in her successful bid to stay Speaker of the House.
TV5 spoke with Golden Monday afternoon.
He was one of just two Democrats who voted for another candidate.
Golden supported Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois.
He said that as he did in 2018, he voted against Pelosi because he thinks change is needed.
“This current leadership slate, whether it be Democratic leadership or Republican leadership, that’s not really done anything to reverse these terrible trends for our democracy in our country,” Golden said. “It’s not a personal position, but I think it is fair to say that if this leadership has not been delivering the results that you think are critical to the future of the country, then it’s time to call for new leaders.”
Golden added that despite opposition from the President and other GOP lawmakers over election results, he sees Wednesday’s vote to confirm electoral college votes as ceremonial, and that on January 20th, President-Elect Biden will be sworn in.
