619 new coronavirus cases in Maine, breaks last record set 24 hours earlier
9 new deaths including five in Oxford County
Maine (WABI) - Maine topping the 600 mark for new reported cases of coronavirus.
That means for the second day in a row, daily COVID-19 infections in our state reached record high levels.
According to the Maine CDC, there are 619 new cases.
There are also 9 new deaths- five in Oxford County, one each in Cumberland, York, Kennebec and Aroostook counties.
That brings total deaths to 276 and the total case count to 17,901 since the pandemic began in March.
Of those, 6,937 remain active.
Recoveries are at 10,688.
According to the Maine CDC there are 46 COVID-19 patients in critical care. Of those, 18 are on ventilators.
Both Cumberland and York counties with high numbers of new cases. 152 in Cumberland County, 111 York County.
59 new cases reported in Penbobscot County and 44 in Kennebec County.
Hancock County with 34 new cases, Washington County recording 32 new infections.
Aroostook County with 25 new cases.
