Portland man arrested after robbing a McDonald’s while operating a chainsaw
Sweet was charged with Robbery, Criminal Mischief, Refusing to Submit to Arrest, and Violation of Conditions of Release.
PORTLAND, Maine (WMTW) -A Portland man was arrested Tuesday, after robbing a Mcdonald’s while operating a chainsaw.
Police say an investigation determined 26-year-old Alice Sweet entered the McDonald’s with a chainsaw, went behind the counter revving the saw, and then stole some food and a beverage.
Police say when the McDonald’s manager confronted Sweet in the parking lot, he began chasing the manager with a chainsaw. He also used the saw to damage two vehicles in the parking lot.
Officers quickly located the suspect by the VIP Tires on Riverside Street in Portland. The suspect ran from officers but was quickly caught and arrested without further incident by the Fireside Inn.
According to police, Sweet was charged with Robbery, Criminal Mischief, Refusing to Submit to Arrest, and Violation of Conditions of Release.
