A former Pleasant Point police chief is accused of stealing more than $10,000 from the Passamaquoddy tribe.
41-year-old Joseph Barnes is charged with felony theft.
Authorities say he took the money between April 2007 and May 2008.
Barnes resigned as Pleasant Point's police chief about a year ago, citing personal reasons.
