The Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit handles some of the most horrific types of crimes that involve children, including child pornography.
And the amount of cases they investigate keeps piling up.
On Monday the unit welcomed two new members to the team to help them cut the case load.
Frank Stepnick from the South Portland Police Department, and Mike Mcfadden from Belfast Police took the oath on Monday from public safety commissioner Anne Jordan.
Both positions are being funded by federal recovery act money.
Since 1999 there has only been enough funding for one detective.
Right now the unit has about 250 they haven't been able to investigate.
