In Augusta, the Civic Center hosted the state championships in cheerleading. The afternoon session featured Classes B and C. Ellsworth once again back at the state championships. Another great job from them, they finished in second. Hermon were one of the favorites having won the competition last year. The Hawks finished in third this year. Poland wins the title in Class B. In Class C, the Shires from Houlton putting on a good display. The Shires finished in fourth. The Eastern Maine champs were the Sumner Tigers and at states they continue their impressive cheering. With 132.2 points the Tigers win the Class C state championship.
