A Seven-Year-Old boy from Ludlow who had been missing for over 6 hours has been found Alive.

The Maine Warden Service received a missing-persons call before noon Sunday saying the boy was last seen at home in his bed on Saturday night.

The boy had been missing for at least six hours before he was found asleep in thick growth in the woods about three-quarters-of-a-mile from his home by search volunteer Paul Hemingway, around 1:30 p.m.

Hemingway was searching between a snowmobile trail and a road when he located tracks made by small boots and a dog. He called out for the boy, who woke up startled and answered him. Hemingway carried the boy to the road and met a couple there who drove the boy to his home.

According to Spokeswoman Deborah Turcotte the boy brought his Black Lab puppy into the woods, but the two separated.

The dog was still missing late Sunday afternoon.

The boy was transported by Houlton Ambulance to Houlton Regional Hospital, where he was evaluated for frost bite on his fingers and toes.

The incident is under investigation.
