Maine wardens say a Leeds man had to be rescued from the roof of his pickup truck after his vehicle went through thin ice into a lake in central Maine.

Jeff Worster told wardens he drove his truck onto some ice on
North Pond in Rome at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Warden Gary Allen said Worster climbed on top of his truck after
it came to a rest on the lake bottom in about 5 feet of water. He
was rescued by rescue departments from surrounding towns.
