A man from Fairfield could spend more than two years in prison for two local robberies last fall.
22-year-old Alex Gerald pleaded guilty to the crimes on Monday.
In September, Gerald robbed Sun Tan City in Old Town.
A day later, he robbed the Dunkin Donuts on Wilson Street in Brewer.
Police say he used plastic guns that he spray painted black, and got away with less than a thousand dollars.
He told police he was looking for money to support his drug habit.
Deputy District Attorney Mike Roberts says he plans to ask the judge to sentence Gerald to two-and-a-half-years in prison.
Gerald is alsp facing theft charges in Kennebec and Somerset counties.
A sentencing date has not been set yet.
