Officials say it wasn't icy roads that caused a three-car accident Friday morning along the River Road in Orrington.
A 78-year-old Orland woman told police she fell asleep at the wheel, before crashing into another vehicle head-on.
The driver of that car, a 50-year-old woman from Guilford, was taken to the hospital. We're told her injuries aren't life-threatening.
"And a third vehicle that was traveling behind the 2008 Dodge Caliber was unable to stop and he ran into her as well, so we had a three car accident," says Sgt. Jon Carson, with the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office.
The crash tied up traffic for about 45-minutes along Route 15. No charges are expected to be filed.
