Dixmont volunteer fire and rescue needs help.

They're trying to raise money for a rescue vehicle and fire and EMS equipment.

One of their fundraisers is a Winter Gala at the Morgan Hill Event Center in Hermon Friday, January 29th.

Tickets are 25-dollars per person. It includes a dinner buffet, dance and door prizes.

And can be purchased at Paul's True Value in Brooks.

The event goes from seven to midnight.

They want a rescue vehicle because the community ambulance that used to serve the area went out of business.

" That kind of left us high and dry once the ambulance was gone."

"I feel it's very important to help get us the equipment we need, the rescue truck. We're running out of the brush truck right now. It will help us do our job better."

Folks are asked to buy their tickets before January 15th.

Or you can buy them at the door for 15-dollars, but dinner will not be included.
