Slippery road conditions are to blame for an accident that claimed the life of a Southern Aroostook High School senior yesterday morning.

According to State Police 17-year-old Jarrica Emery of Island Falls was driving on Route 2 in Dyer Brook at around 9:00 Tuesday morning when she lost control of her car and slid across the center line where her car collided with a tractor trailer truck.

Emery died at the scene, the driver of the truck. 40-year-old Jason Pelletier was not injured.
