Crews battled a fire at a dog kennel in Charleston last night.

The call came around 1:30 Friday morning. Crews from Charleston, Corinth, and Hudson responded to the Atkinson Road.

When they arrived, the kennel was full of flames and past the point of being saved. Two puppies died in the fire.

The owner's house nearby was not damaged. Crews cleared the scene at around 3 a.m.

Greg Pinkham with the Charleston fire department says they believe the fire was electrical. They don't know if the owner was insured.
