The Maine Credit Union Ending Hunger Walking Tour made its way through Brewer Friday.
Brenda Davis, Founding Director of Crossroads Ministries, has been walking through communities across the state, from Madawaska to Kittery.
This is the 8th year for the tour.
Davis stops by credit unions to pick up a check. The credit unions raise money all year long to support food pantries.
We caught up with her as she stopped by the Brewer Federal Credit Union.
Davis says it's important to raise money, but she also does this to raise awareness of problem.
She says she sees a lot of people who work one or two jobs and still can't make ends meet. "We shouldn't have to think and make choices whether or not we have a meal before we go to bed or that we send our children to school without breakfast or that you go to work yourself without getting breakfast. It shouldn't be a choice it should be just something that happens."
After her stop in Brewer, Davis was headed for Hampden and Hermon.
