The Eastern Area Agency on Aging is collecting coats to keep folks warm outside, and inside their homes this winter.
For every coat that is collected L.L. Bean will make a $5.00 donation to the Keep Me Warm fund.
That fund helps out people who can't afford to heat their homes.
All five area agencies on aging are participating in the effort, along with other local and state organizations.
When the coats are all collected, they will be brought down to the L.L. Bean store in Freeport and counted in order to determine the donation the store will be making.
They will then be cleaned and given back to the area agencies on aging, where they will be given out to folks who can use them.
The coat drive runs through Friday. You can drop gently worn adult coats off at the Eastern Area Agency on Aging at 450 Essex street in Bangor.
