The fire marshal's office will try to determine what started a house fire in Winterport this morning.
The call came to the Souder Station Lane shortly after 8 am this morning.
Several fire departments responded and Winterport Fire Chief Thomas Doe says when his crew arrived the fire was fully involved.
Doe says the house had an addition on the backside, which is where the fire started.
No one was at home.
Doe says there were difficulties battling the fire.
" It's a well insulated house and with cellulose. All that cellulose we have to dig through it's difficult to get it completely put out."
A dog and cat were inside and could not be rescued.
But a potbelly pig and another dog were outside at the time of the fire and are fine.
The Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross tells TV-5 they will be helping the family with food, shelter and clothing.
If you would like to help with the disaster relief fund you can call their office at 941-2903.
