The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is looking into the sinking of two fishing boats, which killed five fishermen off eastern Maine this year.

A NOAA team will begin surveying the ocean floor in Cobscook Bay near Eastport on Tuesday.

The 34-foot urchin dragger Bottom Basher was lost October 20th with three fishermen aboard.

In March, two fishermen were killed when another 34-foot dragger, All American, sank.

The survey team will use sonar images of the ocean floor to help figure out if there are any submerged objects.
