Student Flu Vaccine Clinic Today

The first of two flu shot clinics for school-aged children in the greater Bangor area, takes place Wednesday.

It's being held at the Bangor Civic Center, from 8 AM until 9 PM.

Vaccines for both H1N1 and the seasonal flu will be available, free of charge, for students from kindergarten to high school in Bangor, Brewer, Hermon, Hampden, and Orono schools and the towns that feed those schools.

Parents or guardians who are not accompanying their child to a clinic, must send a signed note giving their permission for the vaccination.

Another flu clinic for school children will be held on November 4th, again at the Bangor Civic Center.

My husband has been currently stand in line at the clinic for 2 hours and 3 busses from private schools pulled right in front and got ahead of all those who had been waiting for hours! Way to go city of Bangor...create an ugly mob atmosphere!!!

That was hardly the scene that played out. The children that were on the buses were sent to seperate vaccination stations that did not impact those who were standing in line. An ugly mob scene was no where to be found. We appreciate the opportunity to receive the shots. Thanks to the City of Bangor for making it happen.

I spent 4hrs and 20 minutes in line before my children were able to be vaccinated (Less than Black Friday).... that being said it was a smooth process by Bangor Public Health, parents and children at this event. As a society we are so impatient; however today....everyone was great in protecting our childrens health! Great Job by all!
