Residents of Howland will be in the dark for a little while Friday morning.

Bangor Hydro is going to be shutting down service in that area to perform repair work to a line that was damaged during recent excavation work.

Power will be out from 9am to 11am in the greater Howland area, and will affect the high and middle school as well as the post office.

Other affected towns include Maxfield, Seboeis Plantation, Edinburg, Lagrange, and Medford.
