"We ask a lot of those who wear our uniform. We ask them to leave their loved ones to travel great distances, to risk injury, even to be prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice of their lives. They are dedicated. They are honorable. They represent the best of our country, and we are grateful." President George W. Bush - 02 OCT 01

Mr & Mrs John Bernard and Family. I am sorry for your loss. Due to all the news about your son, he has become a bigger hero to me. I would not have shown the photo if it were my decision but we know that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord.

Agree or disagree with him, he's a straight shooter and no one can understand the position he's in like he can. Before people go on and on about how brave and courageous Julie Jacobson and the Associated Press are, I wish they'd listen to what it’s like for LCPL Bernard's family.
