The Neighbor Helping Neighbor program started to reach out to the Central Maine community three months ago. Since then the non-profit has served between two and three hundred people and Charli Spearrin, the woman who coordinates the volunteer effort hopes it expands throughout Maine in the upcoming months. Neighbor Helping Neighbor or NHN offers quality, wholesome foods at affordable prices to everyone. Similar to a food co-op the more food sold, the better the deals in the future. This month six menus are available to choose from and anyone can take their pick. There is no paperwork to fill out and there are no income requirements. "Whether you drive a Lexus or you're on food stamps, it doesn't matter, this program can be for you." says Charli Spearrin. The prices range from about 30 dollars to about 50 with the menus changing monthly.
