Last month, First Sergeant Brian Clark returned home after a year long deployment with the Maine Army Guard.
Monday, he returned to his other job, physical education teacher in RSU 64.
As Joy Hollowell shows us, students and staff at Kenduskeag Elementary School rolled out the red carpet for their hero.

Brian Clark thought his first day back to work at would be pretty low key. But students and staff at Kenduskeag Elementary school had different plans. The entire school came out for a Welcome Home Ceremony. Students read poems, sang songs and wrote red, white and blue in honor of their hero.
Clark teaches gym for grades K-5 in RSU 64. This latest deployment to Kuwait was his fifth. Clark says homecomings like this mean the world to him and his fellow soldiers.
"It's overwhelming to know that this many people are aware of not only myself but all the sacrifices service men and women are making," says First Sgt. Clark.
Students say they were excited to have Mr. Clark back at work.
"I think the most touching thing was that the kids, even at this young an age, kind of have an understanding that there's a sacrifice that goes in there," says Clark. "It's not just that people are gone for a year, that they're giving up something to help the country."
Clark calls himself a lucky man. Lucky to be able to serve his country, lucky to come back safely and lucky to have a job where so many are happy he is home.
"Is there any way for me to be any luckier than to get back and see all you guys?" he asks the students.
"No," they respond in unison.
