Folks were rocking out for a good cause this weekend.
The Bangor Area Recovery Network has been hosting bi-weekly open mic nights, offering a safe place for recovering addicts to have some fun.
Rockin' Ron hosts the event. It's a three dollar entry fee or based on what you can donate.
Half the proceeds go to the band and the other half goes to help the B.A.R.N
For one volunteer, the cause is personal.

One volunteer Cindy Thompson said the cause for her is personal.
"I know for me it's been a safe place for me to be. I've been in recovery for a long time and recently relapsed and came back. So it's always been a safe place for me," she said.
If you'd like to help, you can contact the B.A.R.N at 561-9444
