Game Two of the Hockey East quarterfinals tonight. It was win or go home for the UMaine Black Bears.
In the second period, on the power play, it's Devin Shore scoring his second goal of the series. It's 1-0 Black Bears.
Joey Diamond got into trouble tonight. Late in the 2nd, the senior captain draws his second five minute major of the game. This also earned him a game disqualification, meaning he was thrown out of this game. That's ironically how his career would end.
Then in the third, UMass Lowell ties the game, thanks to a Michael Fallon goal. It stayed 1-1 into overtime.
Just 1:50 into the extra period, Marty Ouellette with a save, but he's knocked out of his net. Derek Arnold takes advantage of the open net and scores the game-winner.
UMass Lowell advances in the Hockey East tournament with a 2-1 victory.
Maine's season is over. The Black Bears finish at 11-19-8 overall.
