Eastern Area Agency on Aging Dealing with Cuts

3

Eastern Area Agency on Aging is making cuts.

Executive director Noelle Merrill says recent budget cuts and the threat of sequestration are to blame.

She says beginning in april the office will be closed Fridays.

Clients will be served Monday through Thursday in the office by appointment.

The agency will also no longer provide home visits.

Its meals programs, including Community Cafes on Fridays, along with Meals on Wheels and 3-d Catering will not be impacted.

Merril says "overall, we're leaving nutrition as it is, because we think it's important to be there for people."

For more information on the changes you can call Noelle Merrill at 1-800-432- 7812.
