Benjamin Johnson was a guest on our show Friday morning. He's a Latin teacher at Hampden Academy and also the State Chair for the Maine Junior Classical League.
They're sponsoring Certamen Night at Hampden Academy Friday night.
Students from all over the state will compete in fun Latin-themed events including Certamen (which can be compared to Latin-style Jeapordy).
61 schools including Hampden Academy offer Latin as a second language.
Friday night's event is open to the public. It goes from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
