Thursday was Pi Day. The date, 3-14, has been chosen to celebrate the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, which numerically, is roughly 3.14 and called pi.
Governor's restaurants around Maine are paying tribute to Pi Day with one of their specialties: the other kind of pie.
On Thursday, you can get a slice of pie for $1.99.
"We're hoping that they come in and have a nice homemade slice of pie, and get a good deal on it, and have a little fun, and maybe some education about what pi is, and how it relates to the mathematical world, too," said marketing director, Jason Clay.
An employee came up with the sweet deal last year.
