Detectives searched Carson's house last week and found evidence related to the investigation. According to state police, the victim is a young girl.

Wednesday, Carson would not open the door when detectives went to his house to arrest him. The Maine State Police Tactical Team was called in and Carson shot himself in the chest. Carson was taken by medical helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
