Bangor - You can usually find the Harlem Globetrotters spinning basketballs on their heads or hitting trick shots on the court, but on Wednesday, Globetrotter Scooter Christensen talked to the students at the Abraham Lincoln School in Bangor about bullying.

The globetrotter says there's a solution to the problem and it's as easy as ABC or action, bravery, and compassion.

Second Grade Teacher, Erica Guy said "This is the same thing that kids of every age are facing and to give them a simplified message to remember is something that will stick with them for a long time."

The Harlem Globetrotter made the lesson fun for the student and teachers at the school, complete with some of his world famous tricks.

Scooter may be a star now, but he said there was a time he was made fun of and told he wasn't good enough to play basketball. He said "I can share some of my experience that I had coming up as a kid and their looking at me like 'God, he's a globetrotter, if he can make it, maybe I can make it.' So, that's the message you hope you can get across."

For the students, that message was heard loud and clear. One student said "It's just kind of amazing how someone like that can grow up to be world famous."

The Globetrotters also debunk the term "tattletale." Scooter said you're doing the right thing if you stand up for someone who's getting hurt. One student agrees and said "If I ever see them get bullied I'm just going to tell a teacher and just be there for them."

The Globetrotters will be back in Bangor next week for their tour. You can catch their show at the Bangor Auditorium on Tuesday, March 18th.
