EMHS's First Chief Medical Officer Says Goodbye

3

Brewer - The First Chief Medical Officer for Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems will be leaving Maine.

Dr. Erik Steele will be moving to Ohio to take on a new role at Summa Health in Arkon.

He started as an intern at Eastern Maine Medical Center in 1988 and has been working in different roles through the healthcare system ever since.

Steele said what he's learned here will help him in his next venture. "If I bring my physician voice and work to helping lead organizations, we can actually, I can actually take care of them in a different way and be as important, as impactful or maybe more."

The doctor said he's not sure exactly when he last day at EMHS is, but believe it will be sometime in mid-may. He'll start his new job in Ohio in June.
