Newport Area -
Third time is the charm for voters in the Newport area.
The proposed $2.8 million loan passed Friday in a 1118-1634 vote.
The disrict will no longer be consider a temporary school shutdown.
Voters previously rejected two other loan proposals.
In the coming weeks, leaders will discuss which bank to borrow the money from. Right now they're looking at renegotiating their current loan with Androscoggin Bank.
There will be no additional cuts this year, and spring activities will continue as planned.
