Bangor, Carmel -
A man from Carmel accused of hitting a toddler pleaded guilty Thursday.
30-year-old Scott Peavey is charged with assault. He was indicted last month.
The Penobscot County District Attorney's Office says Peavey was drunk when he hit the 14-month old child in a car parked outside of a Bangor hospital in January.
We're told the child had significant bruises on the face.
Peavey is a convicted sex offender and is listed on the state's sex offender registry.
He's scheduled to be sentenced next month and faces a maximum of five years in prison.
