River Flow Advisory Commission Reviews Spring Flooding Potential

3

Augusta - Maine's snowpack, ice conditions and stream flows are being evaluated by a panel that meets every late winter to analyze the potential for spring flooding.

The River Flow Advisory Commission is meeting at the Maine Emergency Management Agency headquarters Thursday to look at those factors and short- and long-term weather forecasts in making their determination.

The commission meets in late winter to share information, examine the likelihood of spring flooding and renew operational procedures.

The commission is made up of state, federal and industry representatives with an interest in hydrologic issues.
