Bangor Assistant Superintendent Resigns Position

3

Bangor - The assistant superintendent of the Bangor school department Robert Lucy has resigned his position..

Superintendent Betsy Webb made the announcement Wednesday.

According to Webb, Lucy’s resignation takes effect on March 29th, 2013. Lucy has been on paid administrative leave since September after a Department of Education Investigation report stated that, while principal at Orono middle school, Lucy asked teachers to let some students "re-visit" their state exams.

According to the report, Lucy reviewed test booklets of six students in 2011, five of them with special needs.

He reportedly told two teachers to let the students give more complete answers.

According to the report, some students did look at their tests again, and worked on some answers, which is not allowed.
