Bangor -
There's a new guy making music with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. Brian Hinrichs has been named executive director.
He'll be moving here in June after he completes a masters degree at the University of Wisconsin. Hinrichs has experience with other orchestras and operas, and plans to bring that expertise to Bangor.
He said he's been very impressed with the community's excitement and passion for the arts.
"I think it's important for people here to know that this is unique in a city of this size to have such a strong orchestra and to have such enthusiasm for the orchestra and I think it bodes well for the future," said Hinrichs.
Hinrichs looks forward to bringing in new audiences and helping the orchestra become an even bigger part of the community.
