Local Powerball Winner Steps Forward

3

We now know who bought a $2 million winning Powerball ticket sold in Canaan last week.

James Lovell has claimed it.

The ticket was sold at Canaan Superette for last Saturday's drawing.

The winning Powerball ticket matched the first five numbers winning a million dollars; however, Lovell added the Power Play option for a buck extra and doubled his winnings to $2 million.

He's an unemployed truck driver and a regular Powerball player.

He picks up his tickets on the way to pick his wife up from the school where she works as a social worker.

Lovell's winnings were put into trusts for his granddaughters; however, a check was immediately written for a new V-8 diesel truck fully accessorized with plow and more.

Lovell says what he really wants is a driving job.

He wants to be working again, and his wife says she will continue on with her work at the school.
