Hancock County -
The second annual Hancock Countywide Food Drive kicks off March 1st.
Last year nearly 100 businesses, schools, and churches from 20 towns supported the cause.
Donations will be divided between ten food pantries in the county.
The United Way of Eastern Maine and Maine Community Foundation will match each item collected with a dollar donation, up to $10,000.
Organizers are asking for your help again this year.
If your organization wants to contribute a collection box or hold a food drive of your own, contact Marjorie Peronto at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.
She can be reached at 667-8212 or Marjorie.peronto@maine.edu.
