Competency Hearing Continued for 11-Year-Old Charged with Manslaughter

3

Skowhegan - A competency hearing for a young girl charged with killing an infant has been continued until March 15th.

The Fairfield girl was 10 when she was charged in the death of 3-month-old Brooklyn Foss-Greenaway last summer.

The baby was staying overnight in the girl's home and being babysat by her mother.

The competency hearing was supposed to take place on February 28th. When the hearing does happen in March it will be closed to the public, at the request of the girl's attorney.

This is outrageous, the one that should have been charged is the the adult in charge of supervision, not a child. In today's world of violet movies, tv programs, a child does not realize that life does not go on forever. The reasoning brain is not fully matured unti well into the twenties, some research says into the forties. The adult was in charged of the children, and it is the adult that needs to be charged.
