The American Red Cross is filling their blood supply and could help you fill your car.
The 5th annual Chill n' Fill event in Bangor was held on Saturday.
People can donate blood and were also able to enter into a contest to win two 50 dollar gas cards, and even a home heating oil package.
An organizer says every 2 seconds someone needs blood, which makes this event even more important, since many people are on vacation this past week.
Recruitment Manager for The Red Cross Maine, Peter Morrison said, "The education accounts. High schools and colleges, make up about 17-20% of our donating donors. So it's a big deal for us. We've been reaching out to the community this week for the chill n' fill event."
Morrison says people with O+ and O- blood types are encouraged to donate, since it's a universal blood type.
