Bangor -
Dinner, drinks, and a movie can be a fun night on the town, but it can also do some damage to your wallet.
"I think everybody is watching their pockets a little bit and seeing what they can do. They work hard, so they're looking for a place to go and enjoy themselves," said Don Simpson, Owner of Movie Magic Cinemas.
Now, two Bangor businesses are coming together and giving date night a twist. My Fork restaurant and Movie Magic Cinemas are joining forces for "Dinner and a Show."
Marketing Director of My Fork, Collin Campbell said "A lot of people go to the other side of Bangor, but now there's something here that's new and exiting and hasn't been seen before."
The owners turned a former nightclub into a theatre. Now up to 100 people can kick back and relax while they chow down.
Simpson said "We'll offer some adult beverages, pizza, burgers and sandwiches, fettuccine alfredo. Some evenings we'll offer prime rib. So, there will be quite a variety."
The food is provided by My Fork, and you can actually eat dinner right in the theatre. It gave the restaurant a chance to focus on their roots: the food.
"They've really focused on the breakfast menu because that's what they used to do in Ellsworth," said Campbell.
The Former My Fork in the Road restaurant in Ellsworth was known for its creative breakfast dishes. The Allen's used to travel from Bangor to Ellsworth, just for a taste.
"I'm so excited I can just drive five minutes to get waffles," said Hannah Allen, a regular customer.
My Fork has extended their hours and menu. You can also head to MovieMagicCinema.com for show times.
