Skowhegan -
The Career Center in Skowhegan is all about getting people employed.
On Thursday, they brought potential employers to them, holding a job fair at their facility.
Ten different employers were there to speak with folks who are trying to find work.
"When we opened the doors at 10, we had people waiting to get in to talk these employers. Good jobs are hard to find in our area. We have a high unemployment rate, so any we can open the doors and have good opportunity we always have good job seekers."
"We can get into the public and tell people what we do and what were looking for. It's so much better than running an ad. We want to get out, we want to shake hands, we want to see people and share information about what we're doing."
If you missed it on Thursday, don't worry.
Job fairs are being held throughout the spring around the state.
To find a fair happening near you, log onto www.mainecareercenter.com, or call 1-888-457-8883.
