BREAKING: Waterville Bank Robbed; Police Searching For Alleged Robber

3

Waterville - Waterville Police are searching for a man they say robbed the Key Bank on Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville late Thursday afternoon.

Waterville Deputy Police Chief Charles Rumsey said the man walked into the bank just before 5:00, handed the teller a note demanding cash. The man allegedly made an undisclosed threat before fleeing the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Rumsey said they believe the suspect may have fled in a car that was parked in a parking lot behind some medical buildings at 325 Kennedy Memorial Drive next to the bank.

Waterville Police, Maine State Police, and a K9 Unit from the Kennebec County Sheriff's Department set up a perimeter that stretched from Kennedy Memorial Drive north to Lincoln Street but have not been able to locate the suspect as of yet.

He's described as a male between the ages of 45 and 55.

Average height and build, wearing a long jacket.

Police say they'll release more information as soon as they can. The investigation is still in its infancy at this point.

Anyone with information is asked to call Waterville Police at 680-4700
