Farmington -
Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington is expected to cut as many as 40 jobs to make ends meet.
Hospital president and CEO Rebecca Ryder talked about the layoffs Wednesday in front of business and community leaders at two local workshops.
She says mostly non-clinical and other positions will be cut.
To help reduce the number of people who will lose their jobs, 11 open positions will not be filled.
Ryder says the hospital simply can't absorb the increasing cost of health care and is operating at a loss of about $500,000 a month.
She says the plan is to reduce overall expenses by $6 million by June.
