Pet of the Week: Bangor Humane Society

3

February is Nation Spay/Neuter Awareness Month and the Bangor Humane Society is doing their part to raise awareness locally offering their spay/neuter voucher program to qualifying individuals.

The program is available to anyone who receives or is eligible for Food Stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability (SSD), or Maine Care (medicaid).

To obtain a voucher you must visit the Bangor Humane Society in person with a photo ID and proof of assistance. You will have to complete an application to receive the voucher that can be used at participating veterinary practices.

There is an average co-pay of $25 for cats and $35 for dogs. Costs do vary for male and female pets.

For questions about this program you can call 942-8902.

If you would like more information on the Bangor Humane Society and the pets they have available for adoption you can visit their website bangorhumane.org...
