Portland -
People visiting the Maine Mall had an abrupt end to their shopping today.
Officials say the mall was evacuated for an hour this afternoon because of a gas leak.
Lt. Robb Couture of the South Portland Fire Department said a snow plow truck struck a gas line outside the mall, but that the leak was contained.
Shoppers were allowed back in the mall at 2:00 pm.
